Deputy for Research at the Shiraz Institute for Cancer Research Center

 

Dr. Mohammadreza Haqshenas, an Assistant Professor of Medical Immunology and a faculty member of this Cancer, was appointed as Deputy for Research in November 2025.

Dr. Haqshenas holds a PhD in Medical Immunology from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences and has been a full-time faculty member at the Shiraz Institute for Cancer Research Center since 2017. His main research focus is identifying unknown tumor cell biomarkers and antibodies produced against endogenous proteins using advanced proteomics and immunoproteomics techniques. To date, he has published over 70 original research articles in reputable international journals indexed in PubMed and Web of Science. He also serves as an elected member of the Council of Research Deputies at the Vice-Chancellery for Research and Technology of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.

 

His main priorities in this role include:

-Developing and strengthening international research collaborations with research centers abroad

-Facilitating the process of attracting and implementing extramural research projects and industrial contracts

-Enhancing the Center’s research infrastructure in the areas of molecular diagnostics, cancer screening, monoclonal antibody production, recombinant proteins, biosensors, and cancer cell therapy

-Supporting innovative research projects by faculty members, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers
